I highly recommend working with VCEP - Jamie is persistent and does whatever is needed to make sure you have a great fitting pair of ear plugs. I have both the sleep and music earplugs. I sleep on my side mostly and, after a bit of iterating on it (apparently my ears are a bit weird, it'd probably work for most people on the first try) we ended up with super comfortable earplugs that I can wear all night and sleep on either side very comfortably.

I've had my custom earplugs for close to a year now and they've been amazing. I am a terrible sleeper and live in the city where there is always noise. I have tried many generic earplugs and they always fall out my ears due to having small ear passives. I was skeptical to pay hundreds of dollars for custom ones but I wish I'd done it sooner.The first month they were difficult to get used to. I found it really difficult to get them out of my ears. I would wake up in the night and panic because I literally couldn't hear anything and would try to pull them out of my ears. Not being able to easily sent me into more of a panic. After a month I figured out how to remove them easily and I stopped waking up in a panic.They come with a case. My only feedback is the case is useless if you purchase the glow in dark earplugs as they need light throughout the day in order to glow at night. I bought a clear container to keep them in. Glow in the dark seemed like a cool feature but it's not really coming into much use. They rarely fall out of my ears and if they do it's well into the night by which time the glow has worn off.

I’ve got Jamie in the past before for send me custom 25 dB sloped earplugs amazing to connect one hearing and got some custom filled earplugs to say I rock those for about five or six years and was not happy with them coming back to Vancouver custom earplugs Jamie always supplies and outstanding product. Fantastic ear plugs, having both musician's and drifter for sleep. They work beautifully, feel like nothing is in my ear, and so I can wear them all day no worries. The musician ones turn down the volume without affecting the sound. They also made the drifters glow in the dark so that I can find them if I drop them at night. Amazing service and you can tell the love they put into their creations.I used them at Shambhala music festival, 25db, was perfect for raging in front of the stacks of speakers for hours. Felt like I was wearing nothing at all. Beauty.

More than a year later, getting custom ear plugs is still one of the best decisions I've made.I get a much, much better sleep quality and the ear plugs are not showing any sign of wear / damage. Jamie has been super friendly and professionnal.

I had a very good experience with Vancouver Custom Earplugs. The customer service is exceptional and you can tell that they really want to answer questions and solve any issues that come up. Jaime explained everything in terms of the moulding and shipping process and answered any questions that I had.The drifter earplugs didn't cut quite as much noise as I hoped for - they block quiet-moderate noises, but things like floorboard creaking and loud snoring will still come through. However, they are easier to pop in, more comfortable to sleep with than foam plugs and don't fall out at night, so I've kept them and use them almost nightly. I believe they do help with my sleep.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I would give them more stars if they were available. Sharing my experience below (be forewarned, it is a long read), but the summary is that this was one of the best customer service experiences of my life and the product itself is quite literally life changing for me.=======================My experience:For context, I'm someone who is very easily overwhelmed by sound which is disruptive to my everyday life and causes a high baseline level of anxiety (humming and beeping appliances are my nemeses).I've attempted multiple different solutions to curb this issue:- foam earplugs: painful after a few hours, must be replaced every day or if it gets wet, wasteful, and expensive per use- reusable earplugs: not as effective, also painful after a few hours, strangely irresistible to my dog who hunted down and destroyed two successive pairs in their protective casings, expensive for how unimpressively they work and how tasty my dog finds them- noise cancelling headphones: must have something playing to cancel out noise effectively which nullifies their usefulness when I want quiet and can't comfortably be worn to sleepI finally decided to bite the bullet and shell out the money for what I hoped would be a more permanent solution to my problem, which proved to be the correct decision. This rivals getting Lasik as one of the best decisions I've made for my well-being.I had an in-person consultation with Jamie, who was wonderful throughout this entire experience. The consultation itself included getting a cast done of my ear canal and discussing my options.I chose the Drifters, as they have their highest level of noise reduction (on par with their other filter-free/solid models), are a softer silicone (comfortable for sleeping and daily wear), and have a low profile (making them, again, great for sleeping but also very discrete for daily wear if that's important to you). I made the order and was told the finished product would arrive in 2 weeks.The 2 weeks passed and I got a call from Jamie that they could be picked up at the store (already a very nice thing to do, as they would otherwise take longer to then be shipped to my home and he thought [correctly] that I might want to pick them up sooner since I'm local).After I wore the earplugs for a few days, I noticed that they didn't fit quite as snuggly as I expected them to, and that they hurt my ears if I wore them long enough. Unsure if this was an issue with the earplugs or simply user error, I contacted the store. They were extremely helpful, gave me some tips, and told me to contact them right back if the problem was still occurring.This is where they really went above and beyond. The problem did continue to occur, but I did not contact them back for a few more weeks because of work and general burnout. I finally managed to reach out to Jamie, who let me know that, though I hadn't gotten back to him, he'd followed up on my file anyway to see if he could spot any issues and ended up noticing that the photo of the order didn't look exactly like the photo of the cast he'd taken. It turns out that the supplier had accidentally sent me the wrong order. He had them remake my order and send it to me.He told me all this when I called, and that, since he'd placed that replacement order about 2 weeks ago, it should be getting to me soon. Serendipitously, it arrived within 2 hours of that call.Now, for the earplugs themselves:- They fit me perfectly and so are extremely comfortable. I wear them near constantly and often forget I have them in.- While they mute sound, unlike foam earplugs, what does come through is not muffled. For me, this is wonderful because it means I can still hear important things like overhead airport announcements, sirens when driving, or my violin as I practice.- Bonus: They are easy to clean and my dog has shown no interest in them.I am extremely happy with my purchase. I have never been able to wear earplugs comfortably, but my brother swears by these earplugs and bought me a pair for Christmas. The fitting was quick and painless, and the first night after they arrived I had the most comfortable full night’s sleep that I’ve had in years! I have a spouse who has to have the TV on to fall asleep, and he and the dog both snore loudly, but I can’t hear anything anymore! I’m a side sleeper and I can’t feel these AT ALL. They’re amazing!

Connected with Vancouver Custom Ear Plugs for some help in blocking noise when sleeping. They went through the process in detail, showing me on models what would be done. I learned a lot about how the ear is shaped and why regular foam plugs won't successfully dampen noise. After the explanation, a silicone mold was injected in my ear. The process was only uncomfortable for a few moments as the molding set and it was more a strange sensation. After picking out colours, I was set! A few weeks later my customized plugs have arrived and they work beautifully! I can sleep comfortably on my side and am able to have a peaceful sleep undisturbed by noise! It is an investment, but well worth it for your health and wellbeing. Very satisfied with my experience and highly recommend!

Nothing but good things to say. Jamie has been perfecting his craft for a long time and it shows. First he will explain the product to you and then make a molding of your ear canal. I bought the custom drifters sleeping plugs and they are amazing. Hurts the wallet a bit but long term these are definitely worth it. I live beside a highway and now I can have my window open and not hear anything. Definitely recommend if you are on the fence about custom plugs. Also they are comfortable and easy to take out.

Got my earplugs here last year, they’ve been great. I DJ so I’m around loud music constantly. When I’m wearing my custom earplugs, the filter is so good it still makes me feel very present and immersed in the music. Love the feeling of knowing I’m saving my hearing one beat at a time!

Jamie and Erin went above and beyond in making sure I was 100% satisfied with my custom 'Drifter' earplugs. I rely on these every night for blocking out my husband's snoring, and they've made a considerable difference in my sleep quality over the past 4 months. Initially I had custom plugs made at a Hearing Aid Clinic, however these caused a discomfort in my ear canals to the point where I couldn't wear them anymore. I think it's the material they use, it's not as soft as the Drifter plugs. I honestly wish I had just gone to see Jamie first - could've save a lot of trouble.What I really appreciate about Jamie and Erin's service is that if you do need an adjustment, they will continue working with you until the plugs work perfectly with your ear. After a few weeks I noticed a small discomfort forming inside my right ear, and when I contacted Erin she didn't hesitate to book me in for an adjustment. I had previously been fit with earplugs from a different business, and despite my high hopes, they just never quite fit properly and the business wasn't responsive to trying to fix the problem. Deciding that I needed to try somewhere else, I contacted VCEP. I was booked in for an appointment with Jamie the next week and less than two weeks later I received my two-sets of customs ear plugs (intended for motorcycle riding). The fit was perfect, and the work great. After telling Jamie about my less than satisfactory first try at the other business, he reassured me that if I had any problems with the fit of the VCEP plugs then they would make it right. They fit great right away so I didn't need to follow up, but I'm completely confident that they would make any adjustments if I needed them. I just wished I had gone to Jamie the first time and not had months of bad fit and questioning whether the ear defenders were even worth it. The VCEP ones certainly are. Highly recommended.

Very good experience: easy appointment booking; prompt and timely communication (of which there was a fair deal of due to my possibly more unique requirements) and good customer service.I wear ear plugs on the road bicycle and alpine skiing due to wind noise. I finally decided to go custom due to how uncomfortable basic universal silicone plugs were. Not to mention, on the bike, they could have been more effective.I do not believe many cyclists wear ear plugs but they really should because the wind noise is causing hearing damage. I encourage any serious cyclist (who does not ride with ear buds) to try some cheap earplugs on a ride then try riding without. It's crazy how loud the wind noise is and I think most are just so used to it they are conditioned to accepting it as normal.After ordering a set with a 15dB filter and using them on the bike they turned out to actually be louder than without plugs due to the air turbulence over the filter opening. After informing VCEP of this they then provided a solid "blank" filter to swap out for the 15dB filter and this seems to offer the protection I require. I'll replace with the 15dB for skiing so I can better hear conversation.The comfort of the custom plugs is fantastic. I can wear them for many hours and they remain as comfortable as when I put them in.Jamie was great to deal with and knows his stuff. He does the molding and explains everything and him and his staff are there for support after purchase.I rarely rate anything 5 stars. If these were half the price then I'd probably have given 5 as they really are easy in and out and comfortable. I totally understand that being a very unique and custom solution there should be a premium price tag and I was aware of that going it, but it still is a very big chunk of change. If I was posting this review years down the road rather than weeks, I'm sure that cost would be irrelevant.

It was a very educational and pleasure encounter with Jamie. This is my first time having a pair of custom ear plugs, and he was so patient with me. I first contacted Jamie because I was looking for a set of custom sleeves for my in ear monitors. I’m a session musician, and I bought a decent set, I just needed a good fit for them. He was honest with me and said depending on the set, this didn’t always work out the way folks want it to, but we could do a consult to ensure that they would fit right before moulding. His honesty and expertise made me feel comfortable going ahead and spending the money once we decided that with my set it should work out. I can’t thank Jamie enough! I was in a serious motorcycle accident 3 years ago, sustaining a traumatic brain injury. I really struggle with noise. My husband found Jamie and he has changed my life. He made me some musician ear plugs. I started with the middle filter. As I lived life, I realized I needed the full filter. I called Jamie, due to post PTSD I am unable to drive. I own a set of the Drifters for sleep and the Protectors for the shooting range. Both perform amazingly and fit snuggly. I bought sleeper earplugs and I purposely let my parents' Boston terrier sleep with me when I visited one night to test them against her horrible snoring. It was the first successful night ever letting her sleep in my bed.I also just moved into the city and have been sleeping with them every night to block out sirens, etc. It took a few days to get fully used to them but now I don't know what I would do without them.Jamie is very nice and communicated well when we were setting up an appointment. Love my new ear plugs for swimming from Vancouver Custom Ear Plugs. The fitting was quick and comfortable. I used to use Speedo silicone ear plugs. Wish l had changed to Custom Ear Plugs years ago. Way more comfortable and they do thier job without constant adjustment.
